Pocket Aurora Papers
How to stop missing bill due dates
Late fees rarely come from not having the money. They come from a letter that went into a pile and a date nobody wrote down.
Pocket Aurora Papers is in development and not in the App Store yet.
Why bills slip
A bill arrives on paper or by e-mail, gets opened, and goes somewhere sensible: a drawer, a folder, an inbox label. The amount is remembered; the date is not. Two weeks later the bill is still safely filed, and already overdue.
Give every bill one date
The fix is small: when a bill comes in, write down one thing, the day it is due. Not the issue date or the period it covers, only the day the money has to leave. A calendar entry works; so does a note on the envelope, if you look at it.
Then mark it paid when it is. A list of what is still open is the only list that matters.
Reminders that do not leak
A reminder on your phone is useful only if you see it in time, and a good one arrives a few days before as well as on the day. It should also be discreet: a lock screen that reads “Invoice from the clinic, 412 EUR” tells anyone nearby more than you meant to.
How Pocket Aurora Papers does it
Give a document a due date and Papers reminds you three days before and on the day, with a reminder that does not name the bill. Mark it paid and it leaves the To pay tab, which lists everything still open. If you turn on suggestions, which are off until you do, Papers sends the bill's text, never its pages, to an AI model in the EU, and the due date and the amount can be filled in from it. See how it works.
